Why do retail stores play the SAME DAMN SONGS all the time!? (reddit.com)
This is coming from the perspective of both as someone who works retail and who also frequents the mall from time to time. I am SICK of hearing the same bland, boring, mediocre, generic ass pop music that nobody actively listens to! And all these songs are from the late 90s to mid 2000s which wouldn’t be so bad, but they keep playing stupid shit like Marky Mark, some generic unknown singers, and whatever the fuck. Has no one ever thought of actually mixing it up to appeal to everybody? Sure, you don’t need good music to buy anything, but it would be nice to hear some classics from the 70s and 80s while keeping in touch with modern music. And based on the demographic of the people who shop at your place, why not appeal to them? NOBODY LIKES TO LISTEN TO GWEN STEFANI, TAYLOR SWIFT, KATY PERRY, PINK, AND LADY GAGA IF IT HAS BEEN ON REPEAT FOR 5 FUCKING YEARS. Let’s hear some good stuff for once! Billy Joel, Hall and Oates, Nena, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, Elton John, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Queen, Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Credence Clearwater, the fucking Beatles for fucks sake! Although I’m more of a metalhead, I enjoy music nearly any genre and appreciate it for what they are, but DEFINITELY not what they play where I work and from where I shop! submitted by /u/OreoDonut [link] [comments]
